The author distinguishes three stages in the research process of Spanish constitutional (state) law of Spain in Soviet jurisprudence, characterizes publications of law researchers and correlates them with publications of specialists in the field of history and other social sciences. The influence of Marxist ideology on the choice of research subjects, their content and conclusions is noted. At the first stage (30s of the XX century), authors of some publications focused on some aspects of the state and legal development of the country during Spanish revolutions, as well as during the Second Republic and the Civil War; at the second stage (II half of the 50s – 1975) – mostly on the Francoist state regime; at the third (1975–1991) – on analysis of the political and legal transformations after the death of F. Franco and after the adoption of the Constitution in 1978.
