At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Using Process Mining to Leverage the Development of a Family of Mobile Applications

Proceedings of the Institute for System Programming of the RAS. 2023. Vol. 35. No. 3. P. 171–186.
L.А. Rezunik, A.I. Perevoznikova, D.V. Eremina, A.A. Mitsyuk

Enterprises often provide their services via a family of applications based on various platforms.
Applications in such a family can behave differently. Their development processes can differ as well. Moreover, modern development processes are often complex and sometimes vague. This can lead to bugs, defects, and unwanted discrepancies in applications. In this paper, we show that process mining can be applied to leverage the development in such a case. Real-life models can be discovered and investigated by the developer teams in order to reveal differences in application behaviour, find bugs, and highlight inefficiencies. We consider datasets with event data of two types. Firstly, we analyse event logs of Android and iOS applications of the same product family. Secondly, we consider event data from working repositories of these applications. We show how by analysing such datasets, the real-life development process can be discovered. Besides, application event logs can help to find more and less severe bugs and unwanted behaviour.

Focusing the Diffusion: Importance Sampling for One-Shot Subject-Driven Image Generation
Mamedov I., Fofanov M., Lukianchenko P. et al., IEEE Access 2026 No. 14 P. 26662–26671
DreamBooth-style personalization, which often relies on one or a few images, can memorize context (background, pose, lighting) rather than learning the subject’s identity, thereby reducing fidelity and limiting prompt-driven edits. P-LoRA (Probability LoRA) is introduced as a training-time modification that biases diffusion timestep sampling and utilizes importance weights, ensuring that the overall objective remains unchanged. ...

Dmitriev A., Kornilov V., Batienkov R., Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering 2026 Vol. 886 P. 249–255
Numerous studies have provided compelling evidence that the probability distribution of avalanche sizes follows a power law, and that 1/f noise is present in the stochastic dynamics of landslides. We present a theoretical explanation of these phenomena within the framework of self-organized criticality theory, proposing a discrete-time model in the form of a sandpile cellular ...

When universal machine learning models fail in capacitance prediction for carbon-based supercapacitors: Leakage-aware validation and electrolyte screening
Makarov D. M., Kalikin N., Fashchevsky K. A. et al., Electrochimica Acta 2026 Vol. 579 Article 150159
Machine learning (ML) has become a powerful tool for accelerating the development of carbon-based supercapacitors; however, most published models assume that a single predictive framework can describe both conventional porous carbons and hybrid carbon electrodes. Here, we test this assumption using a comprehensive benchmark dataset and an extended literature-curated dataset enriched with synthesis- and electrolyte-related descriptors. Three ML algorithms ...

LiteKV: A KV cache compression method for efficient inference on resource-constrained devices
Zhang Z., Ilvovsky D., Information Processing and Management 2026 Vol. 63 No. 7
Transformer-based Large Language Models (LLMs) rely on Key-Value (KV) cache to accelerate autoregressive decoding, but memory and compute requirements still grow with context length, limiting deployment on resource-constrained devices. Existing training-free KV cache compression methods mainly rely on attention-driven retention heuristics, which may under preserve structurally informative tokens under tight cache budgets, especially when such ...

Automated Ranking of Soybean Plots from Close-Range RGB Video via Depth Filtering and Point-Based Counting
Groshev Maksim, Rybakov Petr, Teterin N. et al., Sensors 2026 Article 6171
Manual assessment of soybean yield components, such as pod number, is laborious, time-consuming, and subjective. Existing computer-vision approaches based on object detection or instance segmentation perform poorly on close-range RGB imagery of soybean canopies due to severe occlusions, ambiguous plant boundaries, and the high cost of bounding-box annotation. To address these challenges, we propose a ...

Анненков А. Н., Nesterov R., Моделирование и анализ информационных систем 2026 Т. 33 № 2 С. 176–205
Declarative process models are widely used in process mining to describe flexible process behavior through sets of constraints. However, models discovered automatically from event logs may contain inconsistent constraints, which can make them difficult to interpret and unusable for execution, conformance checking, or further analysis. Existing methods for consistency analysis either rely on automata-based constructions ...
