Communication Mobility and Environment for Its Development
The ability to utilize language skills and cross-cultural knowledge in unpredictable situations of professional communication is regarded as communication mobility. The distinctive feature of the competence is the integration of different knowledge domains and skills. Communication mobility can be developed through modeling problematic professional situations of intercultural communication which create necessary environment for its development. It is carried out within the context of communication tasks designed to encourage students to gradually develop algorithms for effectively solving problems of communicative nature by selecting the appropriate communication strategies and tactics. The main focus in designing the tasks is carefully constructed scaffolding leading to the acquisition of all necessary skills for a student to be a successful independent communicator.
