The article shows that Supply Chain Management is an active organization and a current mobilization of value chain to raise contracting parties’ competitiveness. The author analyzes three main groups of decisions (stages in strategic supply chain planning): Supply Chain Design (SCD), Supply Chain Planning (SCP), Supply Chain Operations (SCO). A general outline of strategic decisions realization in supply chains based on a successive principle is suggested: understanding a customer and vagueness of a supply chain; understanding supply chain opportunities; achieving strategic conformity. The author determines areas of strategic conformity in two spectrums of a coordinate: an assumed vagueness of demand and “reactivity/effectiveness” balance of supply chains.
WIN-LOG is an initiative of the Center for Innovation for Logistics, Transportation and Transformation recently established under the umbrella of the Calabria District of Logistics (R&D.LOG), in Italy. Therefore the main idea behind this workshop is to enlarge the visibility of this new Center at both national and international level providing the participants with the opportunity to know the activities and research projects and the Center as well as to create synergies and opportunities for new projects and collaborations.
The article considers main problems of representing professional knowledge in the domain of logistics. In order to determine key methods for development of formal ontology of logistics authors carried out survey of scientific publications which investigate principles of logistic ontology design and disclosure some ontology extracts. Our research in the domain of ontology engineering shows that most of researchers exploit Supply Chain Operations Reference Model as a primary reference model during design of ontology of logistics. That reference model represents systematic description of the business-processes, metrics, best practices and technological techniques facilitating unified interaction of supply chains participants and increasing efficiency of supply chain management.
We describe vendor managed inventory concept of supply chain management. We propose the idea of using this metodology for the problem of motor fuel distribution from oil depots to filling gas oil stations. The advantages, risks and limitations of the concept introduction for this problem are shown.
This paper proposes a risk-aware approach to tactical supply chain planning based on integration of mathematical programming and simulation. A prototype planning system implementing this ap-proach is described. The prototype is developed using Anylogic simulation software and an open source mixed integer optimization tool – GNU Linear Programming Kit (GLPK)
Transportation is a key logistic function, which determines the dynamic nature of material flows in logistic systems. At the same time, transportation is a source of uncertainty of logistics operations performance in the supply chain. Obviously, the development of a new approach for evaluation of the duration of delivery just in time will improve the efficiency of supply chains in accordance with one of the major criteria, namely customer satisfaction. The paper is devoted to the formation of analytical and simulation models, which allow obtaining the probabilistic evaluation of the implementation of unimodal and multimodal international transportation “just in time”; the developed algorithm takes into account main indices of transportation and various constraints (technical, organizational, administrative); performed calculation examples prove the legitimacy of the developed approach
Authors represented the new version of known international SCOR model standart, which is developed by Supply Chain Council and includes product creation, research projects and development – Design Chain Operations Reference model (DCOR, recommended model of operations in supply chain designing). As well as SCOR model, DCOR model is organised around the five basic managing processes: Plan, Research, Design, Integrate and Amend. Process categories of DCOR focus on three main areas: Product Refresh, New Product, New Technology. DCOR model can be used separately or in combination with SCOR model.
Smoking is a problem, bringing signifi cant social and economic costs to Russiansociety. However, ratifi cation of the World health organization Framework conventionon tobacco control makes it possible to improve Russian legislation accordingto the international standards. So, I describe some measures that should be taken bythe Russian authorities in the nearest future, and I examine their effi ciency. By studyingthe international evidence I analyze the impact of the smoke-free areas, advertisementand sponsorship bans, tax increases, etc. on the prevalence of smoking, cigaretteconsumption and some other indicators. I also investigate the obstacles confrontingthe Russian authorities when they introduce new policy measures and the public attitudetowards these measures. I conclude that there is a number of easy-to-implementanti-smoking activities that need no fi nancial resources but only a political will.
One of the most important indicators of company's success is the increase of its value. The article investigates traditional methods of company's value assessment and the evidence that the application of these methods is incorrect in the new stage of economy. So it is necessary to create a new method of valuation based on the new main sources of company's success that is its intellectual capital.
