The article presents the results of experimental studies of microobjects, defects of crystal structure, as well as the quality of concave spherical surfaces, by topo-tomography. The principle of tomography is based on obtaining information about the spatial structure of an object by a set of its X-ray images at different angles of its location relative to the source and detector. The radiation must be such that, on the one hand, the object (including the micro-object with dimensions 0.001 ... 10 mm) would not be completely opaque to the observer, and, on the other hand, the absorption of the sample would still be significant.

Manual assessment of soybean yield components, such as pod number, is laborious, time-consuming, and subjective. Existing computer-vision approaches based on object detection or instance segmentation perform poorly on close-range RGB imagery of soybean canopies due to severe occlusions, ambiguous plant boundaries, and the high cost of bounding-box annotation. To address these challenges, we propose a ...

Polarization of opinions in the group: a modeling algorithm considering the dynamics of social bonds
Chebotarev V., Andreyuk D., Elizarova Anastasiya et al., Procedia Computer Science 2022 Vol. 213 No. C P. 596–601
The dynamics of opinion in a group are of interest for a number of practical purposes. In particular, consensus helps and polarization of opinions hinders cohesive teamwork. Existing approaches for modeling opinion dynamics mostly do not take into account the dynamism of social relations in a group. This paper proposes an algorithm and a program ...

Decision trees and their ensemble extensions, such as random forests, are widely used as classification models due to their simplicity and interpretability. However, in many real-world tasks where class labels overlap in the feature space, standard decision trees rely on hard splits that create fragile decision boundaries. In these regions, small perturbations in the input ...

Dirty superconducting films with magnetic impurities can exhibit nontrivial behavior in a magnetic field that
polarizes the impurity spins. As predicted by Kharitonov and Feigelman (KF) [JETP Lett. 82, 421 (2005)],
this polarization reduces the exchange scattering rate. Consequently, a parallel magnetic field can enhance
the critical temperature Tc when magnetic-field pair breaking is weak, as realized for ...

Colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals have emerged as promising materials for next-generation light-emitting diodes (LEDs) owing to their solution processability, tunable emission wavelengths, narrow emission linewidths, and high photoluminescence quantum yields. Among them, anisotropic nanocrystals, including one-dimensional nanorods (NRs) and two-dimensional nanoplatelets (NPLs), offer additional opportunities for controlling transition dipole moment orientation and light out-coupling efficiency. These ...
