The common characteristic of wisdom is the connection between assertion and request (reminder, advice). Within this basic structure there are different types of wisdom. Wisdom can be the assertion of a certain knowledge, it can be based on the recognition of not-knowing, and it can be a synthesis of both. The third type is characterized by personal addresses and the focus on the individual life. This wisdom is a global phenomenon, which is shown by publications related to wisdom from Russian extreme sportsmen, traveler and priest Fedor Konyukhov and the Tyrolean alpinist Reinhold Messner.
