Again on nomina agentis in Tocharian B: some new observations
Tocharian and Indo-European studies. 2020. Vol. 20. P. 83–106.
Itkin I., Курицына А. В.
The Tocharian nt-participles ("active" present participles, PPA) are often considered to be in fact agent nouns; but in Tocharian B, where several types of agent nouns exist, the interaction of both formations has mostly remained unexplored. In this paper, we evaluate the morphological features and usage of the nt-participles and agent nouns in Tocharian B and argue that agent nouns in -auca are complementarily distributed with nt-participles depending on the present class of the underlying verb and thus should be treated as participles (PPA II) as well.

This article examines an underexplored aspect of French writer Georges Perec’s work: the
influence of the Algerian War (1954–1962) on his literary legacy. While his works contain almost no
direct mentions of the war, the article analyzes how this traumatic historical context permeates the themes,
structure, and style of his writing. It appears that the war provided a ...

Female aging is a unique cultural phenomenon intertwining universal biological mechanisms, the phenomenological experience of bodily transformation, and semiosis regarding age experience. Throughout their lives, women undergo significant changes in physicality, wherein aging emerges as a natural progression rather than a decline. In numerous traditional cultures, the transformations asso- ciated with female corporeality often remain ...

The article examines instances of inconsistent anaphoric article usage in the Gothic language. Gothic (4th century CE, East Germanic) exemplifies a language at the initial anaphoric stage of article grammaticalization, where the proto-article pronoun should appear consistently after a referent's first mention—yet violations occur. Beyond literature-documented cases involving locative nouns and terms for ‘multitudes’ of animate ...

Данное исследование фокусируется на раннем периоде творчества американского поэта Уоллеса Стивенса. Проведенный квантитативный анализ позволил определить доминанты метафорической системы этого периода творчества. Было установлено, что центральным смыслообразующим концептом в метафорике раннего творчества У. Стивенса выступает «СУЩЕСТВО». Исследование показывает, что поэтическая картина мира автора в этот период характеризуется тотальным панвитализмом – У. Стивенс наделяет атрибутами субъектности ...
