## The Symmetries and the General Harmonic Solution to Equations of Maxwell Electrodynamics with an Axion

Moscow University Physics Bulletin. 2020. Vol. 75. No. 3. P. 192-197.

Кечкин О. В., Mosharev P.

The effective Lagrangian is derived and a group of hidden symmetries is determined for Maxwell’s theory with an axion in the stationary case. The general harmonic solution is constructed, and it is shown that a central source can have only a Coulomb-type magnetic field. The electric field of such a source has a complex potential, which can be finite everywhere with a special choice of parameters. The differential scattering cross section of the test particle on a dione with an axionic charge is calculated within the first order of the perturbation theory.

Continuous symmetries of the Hirota difference equation, commuting with shifts of independent variables, are derived by means of the dressing procedure. Action of these symmetries on the dependent variables of the equation is presented. Commutativity of these symmetries enables interpretation of their parameters as “times” of the nonlinear integrable partial differential-difference and differential equations. Examples ...

An exact expression is obtained for harmonic fields in Maxwell electrodynamics with dilatons in terms of elliptic Jacobi functions and elliptic Legendre integrals. The case of centrally symmetric fields is considered individually and effective charges of all three types, that is, electric, magnetic, and dilaton charges, are calculated. An expression is given for the generalized ...

Let G be an almost simple simply connected group over complex numbers. For a positive element of the coroot lattice of G, we consider the open zastava space of based maps from the projective line to the flag variety of G, having the above prescribed degree. We considered the relation between two famous integrable equations: The Hirota difference equation (HDE) and the Darboux system that describes conjugate curvilinear systems of coordinates in R3. We demonstrated that specific properties of solutions of the HDE with respect to independent variables enabled introduction of an infinite set of discrete symmetries. We showed that degeneracy ...

The issue of accounting of the wave breaking phenomenon in direct numerical simulations of oceanic waves is discussed. It is emphasized that this problem is crucial for the deterministic description of waves, and also for the dynamical calculation of extreme wave statistical characteristics, such as rogue wave height probability, asymmetry, etc. The conditions for accurate ...

The exciton valley dynamics in van der Waals heterostructures with transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers is driven by the long-range exchange interaction between the electron and the hole in the exciton. It couples the states active in the opposite circular polarizations resulting in the longitudinal-transverse splitting of excitons propagating in the monolayer plane. Here we study ...

We present an exact analytical solution of the nonlinear shallow water theory for wave run-up in inclined channels of arbitrary cross-section, which generalizes previous studies on wave run-up for a plane beach and channels of parabolic cross-section. The solution is found using a hodograph-type transform, which extends the well-known Carrier–Greenspan transform for wave run-up on ...

We present a summary of current knowledge about the AGT relations for conformal blocks with additional insertion of the simplest degenerate operator, and a special choice of the corresponding intermediate dimension, when the conformal blocks satisfy hypergeometric-type differential equations in position of the degenerate operator. Leading logarithms in massless nonrenormalizable effective field theories can be computed using nonlinear
recurrence relations. These recurrence relations follow from the fundamental requirements of unitarity,
analyticity, and crossing symmetry of scattering amplitudes and generalize the renormalization group
technique to the case of nonrenormalizable effective field theories. We review the existing exact solutions
of nonlinear recurrence relations relevant for field ...
