During creation of a centralized identity management IT-service the IT-project's management division faces necessity of making a number of decisions that influence the project as a whole and could be crucial for its overall success. These decisions include: automation processes' selection (creation, modification, removal of user identities, user rights' reconciliation), managed IT-systems' user rights role model establishment, choosing of common algorithms of interaction between new IT-system and neighboring systems, definition of basic program platforms, project's stages budget distribution. Risks of performing non-optimal engineering steps that realize at initial stages of IT-project pose a threat of making wrong decisions. The article contains description of most significant risks that appear at the pilot project stage of identity management system creation in an organization, analysis of their consequences that have highest likelihood of appearance and risk mitigation recommendations.
