At HSE University–St Petersburg, Experts Discuss How AI Changes Tourist Routes and Cultural Heritage
Neural networks are no longer simple travel assistants; now they decide what to include on the route and what to skip. Artificial intelligence changes how people perceive a place and shapes the image of tourist centres. At the II International Scientific and Practical Conference ’Information Technologies in the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage,’ researchers discussed who controls algorithmic solutions and in what ways, and whether authentic traditions get lost in them.

Road Injuries Leading Cause of Death Among Men Aged 10 to 39
Worldwide, road injuries are the leading cause of death among males aged 10–39. An international team of researchers reached this conclusion as part of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2023, analysing data from 204 countries between 1990 and 2023. Their findings have been published in The Lancet Public Health, with HSE University Professor Vasily Vlassov listed among the collaborators.

Lagrangian Feynman formulae for second order parabolic equations in bounded and unbounded domains

Infinite Dimensional Analysis, Quantum Probability and Related Topics. 2010. Vol. 13. No. 3. P. 377–392.
Butko Ya. A., Grothaus M., Smolyanov O.

In this note a class of second-order parabolic equations with variable coefficients, depending on coordinate, is considered in bounded and unbounded domains. Solutions of the Cauchy–Dirichlet and the Cauchy problems are represented in the form of a limit of finite-dimensional integrals of elementary functions (such representations are called Feynman formulas). Finite-dimensional integrals in the Feynman formulas give approximations for functional integrals in the corresponding Feynman–Kac formulas, representing solutions of these problems. Hence, these Feynman formulas give an effective tool to calculate functional integrals with respect to probability measures generated by diffusion processes with a variable diffusion coefficient and absorption on the boundary.

Hamiltonian Feynman-Kac and Feynman formulae for dynamics of particles with position-dependent mass
Butko Ya. A., Schilling R. L., Smolyanov O., International Journal of Theoretical Physics 2011 Vol. 50 P. 2009–2018
A Feynman formula is a representation of the semigroup, generated by an initial-boundary value problem for some evolutionary equation, by a limit of integrals over Cartesian powers of some space E, the integrands being some elementary functions. The multiple integrals in Feynman formulae approximate integrals with respect to some measures or pseudomeasures on sets of functions ...

Feynman formulae and path integrals for some evolutionary semigroups related to tau-quantization
Butko Ya. A., Böttcher B., Schilling R. L. et al., Russian Journal of Mathematical Physics 2011 Vol. 18 No. 4 P. 387–399
This note is devoted to Feynman formulas (i.e., representations of semigroups by limits of n-fold iterated integrals as n → ∞) and their connections with phase space Feynman path integrals. Some pseudodifferential operators corresponding to different types of quantization of a quadratic Hamiltonian function are considered. Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Feynman formulas for semigroups generated by these operators are ...

Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Feynman formulae for some Feller semigroups and their perturbations
Butko Ya. A., Schilling R. L., Smolyanov O., Infinite Dimensional Analysis, Quantum Probability and Related Topics 2012 Vol. 15 No. 3
A Feynman formula is a representation of a solution of an initial (or initial-boundary) value problem for an evolution equation (or, equivalently, a representation of the semigroup resolving the problem) by a limit of n-fold iterated integrals of some elementary functions as n → ∞. In this note we obtain some Feynman formulae for a class of semigroups associated with Feller processes. Finite-dimensional integrals in the Feynman formulae give approximations ...

Feynman formulae and phase space Feynman path integrals for tau-quantization of some Lévy-Khintchine type Hamilton functions
Butko Ya. A., Grothaus M., Smolyanov O., Journal of Mathematical Physics 2016 Vol. 57
Evolution semigroups generated by pseudo-differential operators are considered. These operators are obtained by different (parameterized by a number τ) procedures of quantization from a certain class of functions (or symbols) defined on the phase space. This class contains Hamilton functions of particles with variable mass in magnetic and potential fields and more general symbols given by the Lévy-Khintchine formula. ...

Stochastic solutions of generalized time-fractional evolution equations
Butko Ya. A., Bender C., Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis 2022 Vol. 25 P. 488–519
We consider a general class of integro-differential evolution equations which includes the governing equation of the generalized grey Brownian motion and the time- and space-fractional heat equation. We present a general relation between the parameters of the equation and the distribution of the underlying stochastic processes, as well as discuss different classes of processes providing ...

Subordination principle and Feynman-Kac formulae for generalized time-fractional evolution equations
Butko Ya. A., Bender C., Bormann M., Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis 2022 Vol. 25 P. 1818–1836
We consider a class of generalized time-fractional evolution equations containing a fairly general memory kernel k and an operator L being the generator of a strongly continuous semigroup. We show that a subordination principle holds for such evolution equations and obtain Feynman-Kac formulae for solutions of these equations with the use of different stochastic processes, such as subordinate Markov ...
