Бизнес-стратегия компании и торговая политика государства: как учесть вступление России в ВТО?
The article is dedicated to the analysis of interconnection between government’s trade policy and companies’ business strategies. The goal of the research is to provide Russian companies with tools that allow them to analyze possible consequences of Russia’s WTO entry and make efficient strategic decisions. Trade policy measures should be analyzed as an influence factor on the industrial factors of a company and so lead to an accurate identification of company’s threats and opportunities.
The question was raised about methods of empirical verification for various technologies of strategic planning on the local level. The preliminary results of the case studies were examined that described the long-term consequences of strategic planning on the municipal level. The strong connection between the influence of the strategic plan on socio-economic development and the stability of the authority was shown.
The paper examines main trends in the Russian hotel market and shows the impact of key forces for globalization on the international hotel chains’ strategy in Russia. General observation of the hospitality industry and case study approach were chosen in order to demonstrate observations of context and practice. For both approaches, triangulation of data was adopted as a strategy of research credibility. External validity of our preliminary findings has been supported by reviews of industry representatives and by occasional feedback both from members and non-members of hotel chains, similar to the cases under study, and from external observers of these hotel chains.
Smoking is a problem, bringing signifi cant social and economic costs to Russiansociety. However, ratifi cation of the World health organization Framework conventionon tobacco control makes it possible to improve Russian legislation accordingto the international standards. So, I describe some measures that should be taken bythe Russian authorities in the nearest future, and I examine their effi ciency. By studyingthe international evidence I analyze the impact of the smoke-free areas, advertisementand sponsorship bans, tax increases, etc. on the prevalence of smoking, cigaretteconsumption and some other indicators. I also investigate the obstacles confrontingthe Russian authorities when they introduce new policy measures and the public attitudetowards these measures. I conclude that there is a number of easy-to-implementanti-smoking activities that need no fi nancial resources but only a political will.
One of the most important indicators of company's success is the increase of its value. The article investigates traditional methods of company's value assessment and the evidence that the application of these methods is incorrect in the new stage of economy. So it is necessary to create a new method of valuation based on the new main sources of company's success that is its intellectual capital.
