Почему нам нужен онкоэтикет?

Логос. 2025. № 5(168). С. 133–150.
Nagornaya A.

Cancer is one of the most profound challenges a person may face in their life. Not only does it torture the flesh, but it torments the soul, causing a deep and lasting existential crisis and calling for a major revision of the meanings that once seemed immutable. This meaning-making is an extremely complex and delicate process, any interference into which may lead to the collapse of a hard-won balance. What gains utmost importance in this situation is considerate and respectful communication with cancer patients, which necessitates the creation of a special cancer etiquette – a list of rules regulating interaction between the afflicted and their social circle. The paper presents a vision of cancer as a physical, emotional and spiritual crisis, reveals the main issues that impede comfortable communication about it and proposes a number of general etiquette rules which can help consider the psychoemotional needs of cancer patients and avoid communication gaffes.

Nomos e poikilía dell'Essere. Genesi metafisica del molteplice. Una deduzione schellinghiana
Dezi A., Sesto San Giovanni: Mimesis, 2026.
This book is a metaphysical inquiry into the nature and origin of the manifold. Taking Schelling’s Erlangen lectures of 1820–1821 as its point of departure and hermeneutic horizon, it develops an interpretation of Nomos that transcends its political, juridical, and social determinations. Nomos thereby emerges as the ontological principle of an infinite, variegated multiplicity of ...

A combination of properties of direct, indirect, and free indirect discourse: A case study of the Russian particle “mol”
Zevakhina N., Voprosy Jazykoznanija 2026 No. 3 P. 54–70
The paper demonstrates that the Russian particle mol exhibits a combination of properties associated with direct, indirect, and free indirect discourse (FID). First, mol-clauses license shiftable linguistic items (adverbial indexicals, expressive speech acts, imperatives, evaluative lexical items) not only in FID, as typically assumed for such linguistic items, but also in indirect discourse. Second, first- and second-person pronouns in ...

RNA-binding proteins regulating the CD44 alternative splicing
Maltseva D., Tonevitsky A., Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences 2023 Vol. 10 Article 1326148
Alternative splicing is often deregulated in cancer, and cancer-specific isoform switches are part of the oncogenic transformation of cells. Accumulating evidence indicates that isoforms of the multifunctional cell-surface glycoprotein CD44 play different roles in cancer cells as compared to normal cells. In particular, the shift of CD44 isoforms is required for epithelial to mesenchymal transition ...

Herbert A., Fedorov A., Poptsova M., International Journal of Molecular Sciences 2022 Vol. 23 No. 6 Article 3079
Z-DNA binding protein (ZBP1) very much represents the nuclear option. By initiating inflammatory cell death (ICD), ZBP1 activates host defenses to destroy infectious threats. ZBP1 is also able to induce noninflammatory regulated cell death via apoptosis (RCD). ZBP1 senses the presence of left-handed Z-DNA and Z-RNA (ZNA), including that formed by expression of endogenous retroelements. ...

Integrated multiregional transcriptomic and multi-parameter single-cell imaging analysis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma elucidates diverse cellular communities present within the tumor microenvironment
Miheecheva N., Ramachandran A., Lyu Y. et al., Cancer Research 2021 Vol. 81 No. 13_Supplement P. 2742–2742
Although genomic analyses of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) patients have revealed targetable pathways that have led to FDA-approved therapies, the responses to these therapies remain limited. The significant success of immune checkpoint inhibitors and anti-angiogenic agents suggest that ccRCC has a unique tumor microenvironment composition and tumor behavior that influences therapeutic response. Here, ...
