The article examines the results of testing the methodology for assessing complex socio-economic effects from the construction and operation of hydroelectric power plants for regions of the Russian Federation. The assessment system includes direct socio-economic, budgetary, flood control, environmental and additional socio-economic effects of project implementation. The article provides assessments of the effects from the implementation of construction projects for 15 hydroelectric power plants in 9 regions of the Russian Federation.
