В статье описывается процесс адаптации на русский язык опросника для измерения отношения к статистике у студентов социо-гуманитарного направления (Survey of Attitudes towards Statistics (SATS 36)). В выборку вошли 253 студента факультетов политологии, социологии и психологии НИУ ВШЭ (Москва). В целом, удалось адаптировать шкалу, однако в факторной структуре есть расхождения с авторской версией.

An automated real-time classification of human functional states is an important problem for stress resistance evaluation, supervision over operators of critical infrastructure, automated teaching and phobia therapy. In this paper we propose a novel method for binary classification of functional states based on the integrated analysis of (peripheral) physiological parameters: galvanic skin response, respiratory rate, electrocardiographic data, body temperature, electromyographic data, photoplethysmographic data, muscle contraction. The method is based on Gradient Boosted Trees algorithm. A testing of the method showed that in case of stress vs. calm wakefulness differentiation a reliability of the method exceeds 80%.

This paper analyzes opportunities of application of the self-determination theory to the compliant behavior and describes the process of development and validation scale for measuring compliance-related causality orientations in the normative sample. Experts’ appraisals demonstrated that in clinical settings controlled causality orientation could be divided into two subscales: controlled by doctors and controlled by others subscales. Empirical data (N=246 students) supports internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha .76-.79), test-retest reliability and factor validity of the scale. All the subscales correlate with general controlled orientation subscale as well as relevant subscales of General Causality Orientation Scale. Controlled by doctors and impersonal causality orientations were negatively related to health-related quality of life. Compliance-Related Causality Orientations Scale correlated with retrospective appraisals of last episode of somatic illness (subjective interference with other domains, fear of future complications, fear of more severe illness, subjective ability to follow chosen treatment. Although testing prospective validity of the scale is a challenge for future research, the scale could be useful to study motivational factors of compliant behavior both in the normative and clinical samples.

Agrammatic speakers have problems with grammatical encoding and decoding. However, not all syntactic processes are equally problematic: present-time-reference/who-questions/reflexives can be processed by narrow syntax alone and are relatively spared compared to past-time-reference /personal pronouns/which-questions that need additional access to discourse and information structures to link to their referent outside the clause (Avrutin, 2006). Linguistic processing that requires discourse linking is difficult for agrammatic individuals: reference to the past is more difficult than to the present (Bastiaanse et al., 2011). The same holds for which-questions compared to who-questions and for pronouns compared to reflexives (Avrutin, 2006). These results were found in different populations in different languages. In the current study for the first time we tested all conditions within the same population. The research questions were:

Are agrammatic and fluent aphasic speakers impaired in discourse-linked processes? Are discourse-linked processes similarly impaired in the domains of time reference, Wh-questions and pronouns/reflexives?

The results show that processing discourse-linking is not only affected in agrammatic but also in fluent aphasia. The effect was even larger in this fluent aphasic population and only in this group it is was visible in all three conditions. Such similar performance in agrammatic and fluent aphasia are in line with Bastiaanse & Edwards (2004) and are interpreted by assuming that complex linguistic operations are more difficult when language is impaired due to brain damage. We do not assume that the underlying deficit in both populations is similar, but we think that different underlying deficits affect similar grammatical operations. We assume that in agrammatic aphasia grammatical decoding is impaired, whereas in fluent aphasia lexical access is compromised. For optimal sentence comprehension, both processes should be impeccable, otherwise complex syntactic operations, for example the ones that require discourse processing, are not comprehended correctly.

In this paper, based on the psychological model of consequences of info-communicational technology use [1] we study the role of two factors – change in needs (the need for development of image making by technology, the need for convenience and functionality) and transformation of psychological boundaries (subjective extension and subjective violation) – in the excessive use of technologies in the normative population (N=254, 17-77 years old). Specifically, we focus on the use of two gadgets (mobile phones and computers) – and one technology (the Internet). Hierarchical regressions were used to predict the two aspects of the excessive use – subjective feeling of dependence and subjective readiness of refusing from technologies. There were different patterns of correlations between age, gender and excessive use for mobiles, the Internet and computer. Frequency of use was unrelated to the excessive use. Psychological factors significantly improved all the models explaining 10-22 percent of the variance in subjective dependence, and 6-25 percent of the variance in readiness of refusing. Both technology-related changes in needs (especially need for “cool”, stylish or expensive gadgets) and psychological boundaries extension affect the excessive use of technologies although the contribution of each factor depends on technology in question. Data allows suggesting possible psychological mechanisms participating in the development of the excessive use of technologies.

Inefficient lexical processing has been found in both fluent and non-fluent aphasia, although different underlying mechanisms were proposed for those two clinical populations (Prather et al., 1997). Individuals with non-fluent aphasia were suggested to have delayed initial lexical activation, while problems of individuals with fluent aphasia concerned inhibition of irrelevant activation. The current study was designed to further tap into the time course of lexical processing in non-fluent and fluent aphasia. Specifically, lexical ambiguity resolution was investigated using an eye‐tracking‐while‐listening paradigm.
