Among the problems of intercultural communication the issues of foreign (second) language acquisition (FLA / SLA) have a special place. People frequently encounter problems in intercultural communication caused by a lack of linguistic resources or communicational skills suitable for communication with the holders of certain foreign language. Modern methods of foreign languages teaching consider the major goal of the process is the formation of intercultural competence.

In addition to the linguistic and pedagogical aspects of foreign language learning in recent decades, great attention has been paid to its psychological factors. The most important factors usually mentioned in this context are language aptitude, motivation, will, self-esteem, anxiety, individual style and strategy.
