In Moscow, on October 15–16, 2015, a regular international scientific conference of the cycle “Great Economists and Great Reforms” took place at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
This collective monograph, prepared following the results of the conference, is devoted to the analysis of Kosygin reforms aimed at increasing economic independence within the framework of the socialist economic system. The authors of the monograph provide a deep and multidimensional analysis of the Soviet experience in carrying out socio-economic reforms, reveal institutional traps that slowed down, and then canceled the realization of the positive potential of the Kosygin reform. Discussion of the fate of the reforms in 1965 brings to discussion the general problems of the development of the Soviet economic model and the prerequisites for the formation in the post-Soviet period of a new, already Russian economic model.
