The textbook discusses methods, tools (mathematical, information), procedures, individual and group technologies for the development and adoption of managerial decisions. As a result of studying the textbook, students will be aware of the decision-making process in organizations, its characteristics and approaches to assessing effectiveness. The publication contains reading materials, problem situations that will help learners better understand the theoretical material.
The article explores the process of strategic decision making in a high-velocity environment in order to determine the ways of fast decision making. The importance of the study can be explained by the fact that the speed of making strategic decisions in such environments can affect company success in the market. The goal of this research is to determine the relationship between the duration of strategic decision-making process and different characteristics of this process in order to create the model of decision-making process acceleration. To study the decision-making process in the high velocity environment the authors designed the questionnaire which was filled in by 45 managers of IT companies as these firms continuously undergo changes in technology and demand. The results of correlation analysis showed that fast decision making relates to a greater number of decision makers, alternatives and information sources, and slow decision making is associated with conflicts and analytical decision-making style.
The article considers the methodology and procedures of decision making under risk in the organization of the distribution center of the net trading company with many criteria. Alternatives that allow to use the classical approach to the organization of the DC, the method of "merge in transit", as well as a combined approach, enabling the positive effects of both are analyzed for the first time. Formalization and illustration of the problems are associated with finding the best solutions for such optimization problems.
Smoking is a problem, bringing signifi cant social and economic costs to Russiansociety. However, ratifi cation of the World health organization Framework conventionon tobacco control makes it possible to improve Russian legislation accordingto the international standards. So, I describe some measures that should be taken bythe Russian authorities in the nearest future, and I examine their effi ciency. By studyingthe international evidence I analyze the impact of the smoke-free areas, advertisementand sponsorship bans, tax increases, etc. on the prevalence of smoking, cigaretteconsumption and some other indicators. I also investigate the obstacles confrontingthe Russian authorities when they introduce new policy measures and the public attitudetowards these measures. I conclude that there is a number of easy-to-implementanti-smoking activities that need no fi nancial resources but only a political will.
One of the most important indicators of company's success is the increase of its value. The article investigates traditional methods of company's value assessment and the evidence that the application of these methods is incorrect in the new stage of economy. So it is necessary to create a new method of valuation based on the new main sources of company's success that is its intellectual capital.

At present many industries reveal tendency for setting up of vertically integrated companies (VIC) the structure of which unites all technological processes. This tendency proved its efficiency in oil industry where coordination of all successive stages of technological process, namely, oil prospecting and production -oil transportation - oil processing - oil chemistry - oil products and oil chemicals marketing, is necessary. The article considers specific features of introduction of "personnel management" module at enterprises of oil and gas industry.
