This book is an introduction to actuarial mathematics. It is designed to interest readers with the actuarial profession, to expand the scope of his possible professional activities, to give basic concepts about the subject and problems of the actuarial calculations and to attract them to the science.
The textbook consists of two parts. The first section is devoted to non-life insurance. It contains basic actuarial concepts and definitions, main principles and approaches to estimation of premiums and reserves, actuarial modeling, fundamental issues of re-insurance and co-insurance. The second section devoted to life-insurance contains primary definitions of financial mathematics, demographic foundations of life insurance and pensions as well as main principles of tariff rates calculation and reserves estimation.
In order to facilitate a detailed study and better understanding of the subject, the theory is supported by a large number of examples, task solutions and cases. There are also tests and tasks for self-learning.
The book corresponds to the federal high educational standards of the fourth edition.
The textbook is focused on the wide readership including students of economic specialties of higher educational institutions, insurance companies and non-governmental pension funds specialists and all readers who interested in actuarial mathematics and insurance.
