Наименования человека в английском языке: когнитивные основания и дискурсивные характеристики
This monograph studies English words denoting a human being in modern English. Contemporary research methods and techniques enabled us to comprehensively analyse semantic and discourse features of the lexical units and to reconstruct the conceptual structures that uderlie these language features. Analysing well-established and new words revealed the different conceptual components that became the basis of word meaning at various stages of language development, highlighting the information about the human being that was especially important in that time. In addition, several concceptual, derivational and semantic trends were defined in the nomination of a human being at the current stage.
