The approach to the assessment of educational outcomes in the educational system of England is under consideration. Alternative assessment methods such as formative assessment and assessment for learning are in focus. The importance and effectiveness of implementation of these methods are emphasised. The possible use of formative assessment in the Russian educational context is discussed.
Abstract. Th e paper analyzes the most important aspects of the relationship between educational institutions and the labor market, identifi es key problems and makes proposals for improving the convergence of these two markets. Among other problems in the relationship between the higher education and the labor market, there is an imbalance in the demand and supply for labor, discrepancy between qualify cations of graduates and their work positions, low level of young specialists’ professional training, time gap between the demand for labor and universities’ capability with regard to training specialists. Th e solution for the problem of universities’ isolation in the labor market is more active involvement of employers in the educational process, for example, organization of internship and placement, participation of entrepreneurs in the process of educating students.
For improving efficiency of foreign language studies for professional purposes in nonlinguistic higher education establishments in the cultures dialogue context the contents of learningmust be completed with intercultural professional communication aspects including the knowledge of national cultures features of learning language country and understanding of their influence in different spheres of business life . The extension of contents of learning requires elaboration of new elective courses and creation of learning materials based on andragogical principles of learning taking into account adult learners’ specific characteristics.

Discusses the terminology and substantive diversity of approaches to the concept of learning a foreign language for the utilitarian and/or professional purposes and its contents in the Russian linguistic Didactics. Have the interpretation of the concepts and content of learning the French language in nonlinguistic establishment of higher education in economics.
The article presents the results of an analysis of a sociological survey of teachers conducted in 2015-2017. The authors highlighted professional shortages of teachers and suggested ways to minimize them. Particular attention is paid to the development of teacher potential.
The article focuses on student-centered teaching as one of the prominent features of education today. Based on literature analysis some principles of student-centered education have been summarised and classified in terms of content, methods, and values. The experience of the international “English for Academics” project illustrates how these principles may work in practice.
The role of parents in the process of raising and educating children has become more complex. The accepted models for describing parental participation in the educational process (J. Epstein, J. Eccles) do not fully describe the contribution of modern parents to the education of their children. The article proposes a new model of parental participation, based on the concept of power-knowledge M.Foucault.
This article discusses the advantages of using of gaming technology in the process of learning a foreign language in high school. From the standpoint of efficiency the author carries out the analysis of the algorithm of using the technology, highlights the major types of gaming technology for use in foreign language classes, structure of gaming activities. Special attention is given to the use of role games during the educational process as methods of active development of communicative and linguocultural competence of the students.
Being a world leader in revealing and promoting talented young people in science, arts and sports, Russia is not so advanced in supporting leadership, administrative and communicative qualities of schoolchildren so they do not get enough social practice and social skills. The pedagogical experience of the Soviet period being denied, modern schools tend to turn into entirely training organizations. In such conditions schoolchildren taking part in so called «self-government» process are involved in social practice and get leadership skills. In the article the best practice of «self-government» found in schools practicing this form of educational management is examined. The online survey carried out at such schools covered teachers and schoolchildren («self-government» participants and non-participants).
Abstract: The article is dedicated to a review of programs, courses and study guides concerning family studies for Russian senior school. Main criteria of analysis are: key features of topics, which are discussed in the courses, narrative style, students’ age relevance, teaching forms and axiological basis of a program. Existing need of such programs among contemporary young people is also discussed.
The research probes the teaching and learning opportunities that the Wikipedia free Internet project provides in the area of project-learning. Using the platform as a tool gives students a chance to acquire and develop a variety of communicative and information processing competences that the article describes in detail. A variety of techniques using Wikipedia in the teaching process have been developed and tested in studying foreign languages, the humanities, and social sciences. We will be using the term 'wiki pedagogy' to describe the Wikipedia-based interactions between the teacher and the student; the term covers the information and communication technologies of education that are based on the Wikipedia platform

In article the concept of the textbook of a foreign language for high school which considers the main requirements of FSES for development of personal and metasubject competences is described. It finds its embodiment both in content selection, and in the organization of the training process directed to application in various communicative situations of the acquired activities methods. The main attention is paid to implementation of the principle of differentiation of training in the textbook that gives the chance to trainees to build an individual trajectory of mastering a subject.
