It is shown that with the development of logistics and SCM in the emergence of the ideol-ogy of advanced business organization is continuously increased the level of integration of logis-tics activities. In this case the integration in logistics and SCM developed gradually during the paradigm shift: from infrastructure integration across organizational to information. Analytical study of species and stages of development of logistics integration in supply chains is completed. The system connection of concepts of logistics integration and sustainability of supply chains are shown, and that to improve the stability and reliability of supply chains requires further integration. Analyzed in detail the concept of "sustainability of supply chains" in the terminology perspective. A system of metrics and KPI evaluation of stability of supply chains is suggested.
Nowadays, it is necessary to capture accumulate, analyze and manage a huge amount of data while managing logistics processes. However, the world’s amount of data is generated with an exponentially growing pace and current IT tools are becoming inadequate. To solve potential problems, the Big Data concept was created. The idea is to accumulate, store, analyze and manage the amount of data that significantly exceed the functionality of traditional systems. The article touches upon the definition of Big Data and Big Data Analytics, which include modern techniques for processing big data sets to search for hidden pattern which allow making better decisions and improve business efficiency. In addition, the article examines the main approaches to the systematization of types of analytics and analytical techniques used to process data and generate conclusions for decision-makers. The author considers the influence of different cases on processes in supply chains. However, despite the benefits already achieved in the implementation of Big data processing technologies, further development of the implementation methodology is required.
The topicality of the paper is defined by the world trends of economic development accompanied by the growth of urban population and the formation of agglomerations. Moscow agglomeration has a leading development potential among others.
Uncoordinated and unbalanced policies of various government agencies and monopolies as well as business structures can lead to irrational expenditure of investments and negatively affect the public interests: environment, level of prices for consumer goods and services, level of service, imbalance of labor market, aggravation of problems related to the labor migration. In long-run perspective it may lead to a slowdown or even a reduction in the gross regional product.
The article considers main stages of urbanization, models of urban environment development (functional distribution of infrastructure), spatial development of agglomerations (mono- and polycentric agglomerations), and main risks associated with the development of Moscow agglomeration according to the adopted model.
The work focuses on the necessity to clarify the boundaries of the Moscow agglomeration when the interests of nearby territorial entities are under consideration and projects of logistics and manufacturing infrastructure development are planned.
Based on the program and reports it was evaluated the effectiveness of remedies to develop Moscow agglomeration implemented by state and municipal authorities. As well, it was analyzed the potential impact of remedies on the interests of industries and social spheres that are related to the implementation of these projects.
In particular, it is shown the data on the level of development and geographical distribution of regional warehouse infrastructure, the provision of freight rail infrastructure, the problem with staffing issues in the logistics sector and the migration situation in the Moscow region.
The conducted research confirms the necessity to elaborate transport and logistics system in Moscow agglomeration taking into account all risks associated with side-effects of the program.
There are some key conclusions are received in the article among which: 1) it is required to coordinate programs on the level of the whole agglomeration and industries whose performance indicators reflect the decisions made; 2) the transport and the logistics system of Moscow agglomeration should be developed taking into account all risks associated with the side-effects of the program; 3) the second proposition can be realized via the creation of a center responsible for the development of various agglomerations; 4) the center mentioned in the point three should include not only state and municipal authorities, but also science and business in order to coordinate programs at different levels, provide methodical support and collect data which will be used to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of projects.
The theme urgency is caused by necessity of transformation and forwarding of the service sector and determining the role of the state in its regulation in modern conditions and choice of ways of development of Russian companies.
Solving the problems of theory and practice management development in the interests of technical products’ after-sales service requires a comprehensive analysis and development of appropriate recommendations to create a modern effective management system.
In the article the main directions of models’ application in the interests of executives of service companies serving Russian-made technical products are considered.
A balances-scorecard strategy map of the service company executives' activities was developed, which is determined for the maximum coverage of all problem areas affecting the implementation of the service company management strategy in the course of after-sales service.
The analysis of the existing models application problems in the service company executives’ activities was carried out and a list of requirements for such models was developed.
In the process of the study, a requirements traceability matrix for the implementation of the CRM-system was built. This matrix represents the requirements and scenarios that are used in tracking the requirements of the CRM-system project implementation.
Perspective approaches to increasing the efficiency of constructing mathematical models of service company executives on the basis of the principle of modularity and the methodology of simulation-analytical modeling are considered. This makes it possible to create real-time options for efficient system management in a given planning "corridor" with the maximum speed, given the constraints. In addition, it becomes possible to reduce the risks of erroneous solutions through the use of known classical methods of screening out all sorts of random factors, including deliberate interference affecting modeling systems.
Basic notions of SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) concept/technology are viewed, which is becoming in many cases critical process for implementing general corporate tasks of supply chain participants. It is shown, that SRM concept appeared as result of the following objective reasons of development of supply chain management as a whole and procurement in particular:
- Inability to manage purchasing efficiently in the whole supply chain by existing methods and tools;
- Difficulties in finding necessary goods and suppliers with desired characteristics;
- Inefficiency of manual procedures in purchasing.
Use of SRM concept is considered for the company – supplier of components for assembly line of automobile plant is studied. Strategy of SRM is formulated, as cooperation with definite number of suppliers, delivering component parts of desired quality and demanded prices with low rate of logistic costs.
Methodology of selecting and optimizing supplier base of components for automobile plants is offered, possible criteria of supplier choice and efficiency assessment of their cooperation with focus-company of supply chain are system analyzed.
The author shows that formation and management of knowledge base of companies and organizations’ personnel in the field of logistics and SCM is a determinative factor of successful application of modern concepts and technologies in these areas for realization of competitive potential of Russian enterprises. High requirements to logisticians and their level of professional knowledge of logistics and SCM, the skill to coordinate work of related services and to integrate logistical activity within the limits of a supply chain, determine the necessity of formation of multistage corporate structure of logisticians’ training and retraining. The
article considers and analyses the spectrum of basic training and retraining programs, and raising the level of logisticians’ skill, including programs and standards of vocational training and in the new specialty 080506 “Logistics and Supply Chain Management”. The article presents six-year experience of expanded training and retraining of certified logisticians in the frame of the whole spectrum of programs of the International Logistics Training Center of the State university – Higher School of Economics (ILTC – SU-HSE): the second higher education and for the specialty 080506 "Logistics and Supply Chain Management"; an exclusive international program of top-managers logistics training ("Executive Logistics Manager"); programs of raising the level of one’s skill and professional logistics retraining with a subsequent European certification on "Elog SO" and " Elog SE" levels.
Shows the effect of logistics service quality on the profitability of the business network retailer. On the example of the company that sells appliances and electronics, shows the impact of the availability of inventory profits and profitability. The structure of logistics costs, depending on the dynamics of sales of the company that bears the season. Shows the need for a flexible approach to planning, inventory and accounting of the dynamics of the balance of the «cost / service» to maximize return on network retailer.
Author presents the main problem in stock management of automotive spare parts – its extremely wide variety of assortment. It is proposed to combine advantages of classic approaches (independent and fully coincident models of stock optimization) within the model of aliquot periods. At the same time separate product groups with similar demand volumes become joint in mutually ordered deliveries, which allows to get the low discrepancies between groups and individual optimums. The method consist of breakdown of products by groups with aliquot order-to-delivery lead time. Author considers the practical example of applying of aliquot periods strategy under the constant demand level. Applied approach allows to decrease costs on 35% vs. the strategy of separate optimization.
The paper considers the terms of reverse logistics and return material flow. The place and importance of the return material flow are defined. The reverse logistics situation in different business areas is analyzed. It is shown that rational reverse logistics management approach development has outstanding interest in service companies. The paper classifies return material flows for service companies. An economic evaluation approach of the return rationality of packing, commodities and materials is given. Effective reverse logistics management procedure for service companies is developed.
The article presents a model of optimization of inventory control strategy in terms of risk in the supply chain enterprises meat industry. On study the approach to the transformation of the model under conditions of uncertainty in the model of risk management by using the method of decision tree. Based on the method of decision tree for the corresponding model in terms of risk determine the optimal strategy, which provides a different attitude to risk.
The article embraces the study of the major approaches to coordination and intra-organizational conflict management in the management theory. The purpose of the study is to raise efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics coordination. Foreign sources as well as the results of the author’s own empirical research, employing methods of questionnaire survey and statistical data analysis, prove that the issues of interfunctional coordination are of high importance for the absolute majority of business organizations. One of the main reasons for that lies in the dominance of the linear-functional type of organizational structure featuring artificial barriers between the company departments. The author reviews standpoints of the representatives of the classical management theory, human-relations school, systems and contingency theories. With regard to each of the schools the paper exams priority means of interfunctional coordination along with the major strategies for interdepartmental conflict management. Based on the research and application of the comparative analysis method, the author suggests systematization of the approaches to interfucntional logistics coordination and outlines respective coordination mechanisms (means of hierarchy, horizontal communication, standardization of the processes, their results, skills and competencies as well as norms and values). The article reveals a number of contingency factors that influence the selection of interfunctional logistics coordination mechanisms along with the choice of appropriate strategy for the organizational conflict management. The author proves the effectiveness of “compromise” and “cooperation” strategies in tackling interfunctional logistics conflicts and describes major conditions of their choice. The paper finally shows that coordination tools and ways of settling conflicts developed in the theory of management can be applied to solve logistics issues in organizations of various business environment.
Despite the development of technologies focused on material flow management improvement in retail, the problem of poor on-shelf availability (OSA) is still the main challenge for both producers and retailers. The difficulty to increase the availability of goods is associated with a lack of clear understanding of its low value causes. On the one hand, current out-of-stock causes’ groupings reveal a different degree of problem elaboration in the literature. On the other hand, they help to clarify a general viewpoint on the problem in the academic sphere and to explore the factors influencing OSA.
OSA may differ significantly for different categories of goods, variously affecting performance of a retailer. Management of goods with limited shelf life, i.e. “Fresh”, is the most problematic from material flow management standpoint. Poor OSA causes for fresh food are grouped in the article. The classification takes into account the characteristics of goods with limited shelf life and the specifics of a retailer that use automatic replenishment stores’ system. This classification aims to be the first step in the “Fresh” on-shelf availability management.
The article analyzes a key order fulfilment process component of steelmaking companies –melt shop and caster scheduling. The main optimization objectives of melt shop and caster scheduling are defined as: minimization of earliness and lateness of orders, maximization of tundish utilization, minimization of steel grade changes and minimization of mold width changes, minimization of stock, minimization of over grading, management of iron inventory. Key problems of scheduling in the past are analyzed. The following key problems are defined: underdeveloped optimization algorithms for the problem and insufficient computer performance.
Based on this analysis the key provisions of a new method of melt shop and caster scheduling are proposed. This method significantly improves quality of planning. It includes the following three stages: production capacity allocation; heat building; sequencing. Several key requirements on program solution which is based on the proposed method are defined: high performance, manual changes, online visualization, prioritization of optimization objectives, scalability. An experience of successful development and implementation of specialized software solution based on the new method at Czech steel maker is provided.
In conclusion, the results of implementation of the specialized software solution at Czech steel maker and recommendations of improvement implementation are provided.
