Россия и Индия в новых геополитических реалиях
The paper deals with the latest developments in Russia-India relations in the broad framework of the contemporary geopolitical environment. The author outlines new trends in Indian foreign policy and defines their implications for Russian interests. This paper also elaborates on the issue of American sanctions against Russia and its influence on the Moscow–New Delhi interaction. The U.S. factor has been looming large in Russia-India relations. The strengthening Indo-U.S. cooperation and India’s active participation in the multilateral formats in the Indo-Pacific have been a matter of concern to Moscow. The rise of each country’s partnership with the friend’s opponents leads to significant risks for the future of Indo-Russian relationship. In the light of rapidly changing international environment Russia and India have to find common ground with regard to each other’s concerns. Otherwise, the two sides will continue to drift apart.
