Филологическое заблуждение как исток политической традиции: к истории понятия "гражданский гуманизм"

Гефтер. 2013.

The article deals with theoretical effects caused by the reception of one of the most studied and highly controversial Renaissance texts, Leonardo Bruni Aretino’s Dialoghi ad Petrum Paulum Histrum, in different disciplinary areas – history, philology, political theory, history and theory of aesthetics. The study is focused upon the quarrel around H. Baron’s thesis of civic humanism which opposed historians, considering the emergence of civic humanism as an epiphenomenon of social-political events in 15th century Italy, to philologists, seeing in ‘liberal’ claims of protagonists an effect of imitatio as rhetorical strategy (according to this position, Bruni’s Dialoghi have been a close imitation of Cicero’s De oratore). The author seeks to demonstrate, that the civic humanism aporia, resulting from the collision of various disciplinary languages, necessitates historical relativization of the methodological tools used in humanities.
