Image: sign or symbol?, or the philosophy in the age of cinema
Modern philosophy often starts from art and creation. It means that the image conception is related to modern means of esthetic expression. In the beginning and middle of XX century such expression, without any doubts, was the cinematograph. Henri Bergson, French philosopher, compared the thinking with cinema. Deleuze, the post-structuralist, basing on Bergson, later granted the ontological status to cinema. That is why we analyze, explaining the conception of image, the cinema theories.
